I believe there is no greater resource to a writer than other writers. Once we finish working together, to the extent that you are interested, I'll connect you with my previous mentees and clients who have also indicated that they are interested in connecting with other writers. In doing so, my hope is that your circle will grow to include even more beta readers, critique partners, and friends who understand what you're working toward and can support you along the way.
Not seeing exactly what you need?
Our stories are as unique as we are, and one size rarely fits all. If none of my listed offerings meets your needs, I'd still love to hear from you and see how I might be able to help. Just use the form below, and I'll be in touch soon.

What is a writing coach?
"Writing coach" (and, in my case, also a "book coach") can mean many things to many people, and if you're looking for one, it's always worth asking that person how they define the term. For me, I believe it's my responsibility to understand your goals and be honest with you about the ways in which I can support them. It's my job to walk alongside you throughout every stage of your writing journey--be it outlining, drafting, querying, or anything in between and beyond. I'm here to answer your questions, help you grow as a writer and storyteller, prepare you for the publication process, and identify actionable steps you can take toward completing your manuscript and reaching your objectives.
I can't make any promises about publishing or what your experience in the industry will be (because no one can), but I can assure you that your author dreams will become mine for you as well, and I will show up for you as a partner, confidant, and guide along the way.
What is a developmental edit?
A developmental edit is a part of the editing process during which your manuscript is reviewed at the story-level and critiqued for things like character development, pacing, plot, execution, etc. It is a holistic edit, versus--for example--a line edit, which usually comes after a developmental edit and is designed to look at your story on the line-level to improve sentence structure, word choice, flow, etc. It is also different from a copy edit, which focuses more on things like continuity errors and typos.
Not every story is ready for a productive developmental edit--it's worth it to make sure you've taken the time to polish and self-edit your work beforehand in order to get the most out of the process. Also, in no way do you need to pay for an edit prior to going out to agents and/or publishers--and in no way does doing so guarantee any sort of result for your story. I always recommended going into a developmental edit with the end goal of growing as a storyteller and creating the story you're most proud of. Sometimes, an experienced eye that is dedicated to your story can go a long way in creating the story you wish to tell.
Remember: everyone's writing journey--especially if it's in pursuit of publication--is different, and there are no wrong or right paths as long as you're taking the best steps for you.
Developmental edit vs. manuscript critique
During both a developmental edit and a manuscript critique, I'll read your pages and provide feedback. However, developmental edits provide much more in-depth notes, focused on specific opportunity areas for your story, and your manuscript will be returned with my notes embedded throughout. A manuscript critique is a higher-level review of your story, and will provide thematic feedback that includes overall impressions and recommendations, without including granular notes within the manuscript itself.
